Surgery day 2...

"Hold my hand, and walk joyously with Me through this day.  Together we will savor the pleasures and endure the difficulties it brings."  --  Sarah Young, Jesus Calling, Aug. 4

We will start this day off with a pop quiz.

Who had a wonderful and restful sleep?
A.  Rob
B.  Warren

You might have chosen "B" reasoning that since Warren was on morphine that he would have slept like a baby, but you would be wrong.  This is the third time for surgery and each time he is so nauseated  to the point of vomiting.  You might think that he would realize that drugs and Warren do not mix, but for some reason, he thought this time would be different.  He was wrong.  He was up most of the night, sick, while I slept so wonderfully.  I did not wake until 8 this morning.  I cannot remember the last time I slept so long.  It was so nice.

Warren thought he might do better if he had his own pillow which he brought with him from home, but left at the hotel.  So shortly after my arrival, I went back to the hotel to get it.  He was sitting in a chair when I got back.  He'd walked up and down the hall, and had on his new brace that has criss-crossing strings in the back, kind of like the old fashion corsets.  He is much happier with his own pillow, and maybe he can get some sleep this afternoon.

My niece, (my brother's daughter) Jennifer, lives in McKinney which is only about 30 miles from here. I called her and she asked me to come for dinner.  So while Warren was sleeping that is what I did yesterday afternoon.  It was so wonderful to get caught up with what was happening in her life, and she with mine.  We spent a lot of time sharing pictures.  She has such a wonderful little family, and like me, she puts together a photo book for each year.

I was pretty worried this morning with how rough Warren looked, but I think he is doing a little better.  He has taken himself off all pain meds, so maybe the nausea will finally subside.  Again, thanks for all the calls, texts, and prayers.

I'm sorry "all of the above" was not a choice. Praying Warren is able to rest wo pain meds and that you continue to sleep well. Praying for health and blessings during recovery time. Take care!
