Fun filled Friday, and Friends...

My dear, and long time friend, Deborah, came with her husband for a car-hunting trip. (They live in Carlsbad). She let her husband do the car hunting while she came to visit me.  I was thrilled.  We have been fast friends from the time we met playing softball for Charlie's Angels.  Let's see, that was about 40 years ago.  She played first base, and I shortstop.   She was the only one who could handle my throws and was not afraid of the ball. (I throw hard...well, I used to throw hard).  She seldom let a ball get by her.  There was nothing we would rather do than play ball!

People got us mixed up all the time.  People would ask me something about how certain things were going, only they would be referring to Deb, thinking I was Deb, and vice-versa.  We just answered them without correcting them, because we knew what was happening in each other's lives we were so close. Even her husband got us mixed up when we came up to the plate to bat. He would call me Deb, and her, Rob.  The really strange thing was when I met her brother.  I thought I was looking at my own brother, Tom.  Her brother looked just like him, right down to the curly hair.  Amazing!

Back to my story.  We had a lot of catching up to do over lunch, then I took her to my favorite store in the whole world...well, my little world, Down Home.  They have remodeled the outside.  It is now painted pink, and everything in the yard is pink.  It is cute, and interesting.  So naturally, I had to take pictures.

We decided the first place to take pictures was on the old pink sofa with the dead end sign, and the bug standing there.  Deb and I would still look alike if I did not get my hair color from a box.  My natural color is pretty much her color.  One of these days, I am going to give up coloring my hair. 

Deb and her husband moved a lot...let's see there was Oklahoma, Texas, and Kentucky.  I  visited her in all those places.  We have stayed friends, and we have so much fun when we are together.  It is like we have never been apart.  

Next, it was my turn to get a picture taken.   I posed with this beat up old pick-up truck that I wished I had in my yard.  Notice the ice cream cone by the steering wheel, and the lollipop antennae , and the butterfly by the driver's side.  So cool.    I do not think Warren will let me have one though.  Maybe he'd be more open to the chicken!

Deb and the rooster.  Too, too cute.  We did a fast trip through the store, then went to join her husband, since he wanted her to drive some of the cars.  The whole purpose of their trip was to find a car after all.  I came along for the test drives because we were still not done visiting.  Besides, I might want a new car myself.   After the test drives, we were off to SAM's to pick up a few things.  It was getting late, and they still had to drive home, so we had to part company.  I am revived and refreshed from her visit.  The Lord knows the right timing to bring some adventure, and Christian encouragement into my life.  I am so glad she came.  I sure needed it!  I am better for it.  

Maggie, the helper...

Maggie is one fantastic little helper.  One of her favorite hobbies is helping out with photo editing. I am sure I know exactly what she's thinking... "Okay, I am ready.  Where's the first picture that you want me to work on?  Come on where is it...this blank screen will never do...

Oh, great photo.  Let me see, I will just take my paw, and move the picture a little over to the right.  There that looks pretty perfect to me.  Next one please...

 Oh, cute picture of a mama and baby.  That brings back fond memories of me when I was a kitten.  I was such a cute kitten.  I think if I step on this key...or maybe this one, it will make the picture even better.

I think looking at the picture from the top of the computer gives a better perspective.  I can see to move things around much better from on top here.  Besides, I like hanging out here.

I not only work on desk top computers, I am especially good with laptops, too.  I think I will sign in and check out my email.  Hey, what's the password  to unlock this thing?

I am pretty handy with an iPad too.  I know, I know.  My talent is unlimited.  This is Rob's morning workout from "Daily Hiit", which stands for: high, intensity, interval training.    I have to hit the replay button for her since she usually has to do three reps of the daily workout.  It sure wears her and me out!

 After working so hard on the computers, and iPad,  I think I will try to catch that CD that goes in and out of the Bose player.  I never seem to be fast enough though.  One of these days, I am going to capture it.

Enough of the CD,  I think I will go check out the sewing bag.  Hmmm, this looks like a good place to take a short nap.

With nap time over, I think it would be fun to help organize this drawer.  It looks like it has some great things for me to play with.  I especially like iPhone cords, and I see one over in the upper left hand corner.  They are the best for chewing.

Look, I found this pen and scissors in the drawer.  They are also good to chew on. 

What's that I hear?  Could that be the bed going up?  I am so good at helping make the bed.  Okay, tuck it under a little here, and there.  That's right...now the next side...

 Let me help you get this sheet unfolded... I'll just sit right here, and you pull.  That should do the trick.

The work never ends.  These dishes in the dishwasher need a little soap added before it's run.  I know the dispenser has to be on this part some where.  Now if I can just remember what it looks like...

Whoa!  What's all that commotion outside?  It looks like birds and squirrels.  I have got to get out there to catch them...

Drat.  They ran up that tree.  I am going to sit, watch, and wait.  I am sure they will come down and make a tasty meal for me.

Day is done, gone the sun.  Time to close these curtains.  It has been a pretty tough day.  I am ready to go to bed.

I am going to stretch out in my favorite chair and call it a day.  See you tomorrow.

I See...

The journaling prompt for today was I see.  I found a quote from Albert Einstein that I decided to use for this prompt.  I do want to be counted among the few who see and feel with their heart.  Most of all I want to have a heart for God and the things He loves.  I just did not know quite how to go about making a page for that.

Two more art journaling pages

My art journal class is fantastic...at least I think so.  On Monday, Wednesdays, and Fridays, we have a lesson.  Then on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturdays we have a journaling prompt.  Needless to say I am one day behind.  And will be more behind by the weekend since I am going to have no time to work on any lessons until Saturday afternoon.  I seem to remain behind on everything...even with my good intentions to stay caught up for 2012.  Sigh!  Here it is late at night, my loving man is calling me to come to bed, but I have one more thing to do, and that is get my pictures posted for my latest art journaling pages.  I just love them.

I took this page with me to my hands on art journaling class, and one lady commented about the picture of the man in the top right hand corner.  She said, "Oh, I just loved him in that movie, 'Lonesome Dove!'"  I thought that was so funny, and I told her, "I don't think you saw this man...that's my husband!" I knew I married a celebrity! Be still my beating heart!

This was lesson three.  Journaling prompt: Home.  Instead of "All roads lead to Rome", I changed it to home.  Home is where I want to be, just like the song 'Homeward Bound' by Simon and Garfunkel says...home, where my thoughts are escaping; home where the music is playing.  There is no place like home!
