Babysitting the twins...

"We can never know who and what we are until we know something of what God is." -A.W. Tozer

Warren and I recently traveled to NC to babysit the twins.  Since we were only babysitting, and not going anywhere of significance, we could travel light.  Look at Warren's suitcase!  He's only packed a cat!  He's going to have a hard time wearing a cat.  It could prove to be sort of scratchy...with her claws that is.  Seriously, every time we pull out our suitcases, this becomes the cat's favorite place to park her body. She is greatly offended when we remove her from her comfy spot.

This was the first time we were able to fly from our town directly to Luke's town thanks to the merger with American Airlines, and U.S. Air.  See how happy this makes us!

I love being up in the air amid the clouds.  This picture is not so great because the window was pretty scratched up.

The last leg of our trip was on this plane...It was quite a come down from our luxurious air craft we were on from Dallas to Charlotte.  Warren said it was like being on a bus in Mexico complete with chickens.  We were at the very back of this bus.  The last time I remember deplaning like this was about 30 years ago.

A selfie with Tate... He loved taking selfies.  Good for him...maybe he will like having his picture taken.

Our first outing was to the grocery store.  Right away, we had to dig out the cheese sticks.

PawPaw had a quick errand to do in Wal-Mart, so we waited in the car.  While we waited, the boys read books.  As a side note, these boys love books, which warms this grandma's heart.

Even though it rained the entire time we were in NC, we found pockets of opportunity, when the sun came out for little while, to go outside to play.  They had not been playing long before the boys found their Daddy's safety glasses.  They like glasses...and wearing them...and scratching them...and breaking them.   I took these away from them.  After the photo though.

One of the challenges was keeping the boys in bed for nap and bedtime.  We bought a CD player, and a Wee Sing CD, and that helped a lot.  I made a "stay in the bed chart" where they could put a sticker on for each time they stayed in bed.  It helped that staying in bed also resulted in getting 3 M&M's, and a yogurt popsicle if they stayed in bed for two days in a row.

PawPaw's lap, and breakfast was a hit with Sawyer.  Sawyer ate his breakfast, then helped PawPaw eat his.  PawPaw's breakfast tastes better!

Outside fun and activities...

This is where Sawyer put his socks...on the windowsill...That seems like a logical place to put dirty socks...

One afternoon, the boys found some dirt...and a sea shell... this discovery kept them busy for about an hour and a half.  Boys + dirt = fun and quiet!

To get these boys clean, we stripped the clothes off outside, then put them in the tub...got the first layer of dirt off, drained the dirty water, then drew a new clean tub of water, and got them sparkling clean.  Hard to believe, I know, but they came out like new children.

We celebrated an early birthday for Luke.  I made an almond flour chocolate cake.  It was pretty good...and it had 30 candles.

It took a long time to get them all light.

I cannot believe my baby is soon to be 30 years old.

Happy early birthday...

That's our trip in a nutshell.  Sawyer says, "We had a great time with Pawpaw and MiMi..."

Until next time...Good bye and sleep tight...
