Jane celebrates her 96th birthday...

"Birthdays are good for you.  Statistics show that the people who have the most, live the longest."  -Reverend Larry Lorenzoni

My little neighbor lady that I have been taking care of for the past several years celebrated her 96th birthday.  Yes, she truly has 9 lives.  She has overcome Parotid Cancer (cancer in the salivary glands...these are the ones affected when one has the Mumps), chemo and radiation therapy, having a gastric tube inserted in her stomach so she could be fed, a broken ankle, a broken hip, and several strokes.  She is doing marvelous.  Isn't she gorgeous?

Jane the birthday girl...

This photo is straight out of the camera...no editing except for sharpening.  Doesn't her skin look amazing.   She uses Pond's cold cream.  I went and bought some Ponds hoping I will look equally amazing.

Three of us were hosts for her birthday.  I bought the cake, Ruth dipped the strawberries, and Nancy brought the candy.  We all pitched in on the plates, and decorations.

Getting ready to blow out her candles

It took several tries to get all the candles blown out.

Jane and some of her best friends.  We had about 50 people show up for her party.  I am not going to post all the people shots.  (I am sure everyone is going...Whew!)
She had a good time, we had a good time, and everyone left full of cake and goodies.  Good times for sure!  It has all been a result of prayers.  Thank you for all those who have lifted Jane up in prayer.  It is the reason that she is doing so well.  The following quote by Max Lucado is how I feel...
"Our prayers may be awkward.  Our attempts may be feeble.  But since the power of prayer is in the One who hears it, and not in the one who says it.  Our prayers do make a difference."
